ACCPAC/SBT Pro Closing
The definition from the ACCPAC/SBT manual is
as follows:
The process of resetting period-to-date values to zero, in order to accurately
record period-to-date values for the next period. Also, information about
current period transactions are moved to the history files.
PRO series is designed to maintain multiple open periods. And in fact until a
period is locked it is open. Periods can be locked in the System Manager
Section.

Note that in this detail from the sample company no periods are locked.

Unlike many lower priced products ACCPAC/SBT allows transactions until a period
is locked.

This is normally not done until late February
or early March when the year end close is done.
